Red Agave Wedding

A Red Agave wedding in Sedona is something any couple would cherish. Adam and Meline chose well for their wedding venue. Of course how could you go wrong when your wedding is in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona.

Red Rocks and a Red Agave Wedding

I remember our first meeting at Starbucks with Adam and Meline. It didn’t take long for me to find out that Adam and I had a certain mascot connection. We were both KU Jayhawks and immediately I knew I had to photograph their wedding. Rock Chalk Jayhawk! If you went to Kansas University you get it, if not you will have to Google it. After meeting with them I had a good feeling about how things went and was overjoyed when they chose me to photograph their wedding. My excitement only grew when they asked if they could bring their dogs to the engagement shoot. Dog lovers unite!

Fast forward to September 26th 2015 to their Red Agave wedding day. The Red Agave is a quaint little resort nestled just off the main highway into Sedona. Their views of the red rocks are spectacular. I had photographed a wedding earlier in the year and was quite familiar with this beautiful resort. Let the fun begin.

As I began the day working with Meline one of the first things to catch my eye was her blue suede heels. The blue color was just insane. Such a cool color choice. As Meline was getting her hair and makeup done her bridesmaids were having fun and sharing stories. Good times!  With a little help from her girls she got into her dress and looked stunning on her wedding day. As I was grabbing shots of Meline my 2nd shooter Matthew Beutel was getting some awesomeness of the groom. Adam and his guys were enjoying a laid back afternoon of getting ready. A little college football and a few adult beverages made the day.

The Ceremony

These two had a traditional ceremony that included a sand pouring. I always enjoy this and the symbolism it represents. A gorgeous blue sky and red rocks set their stage for their “you may now kiss the bride” moment. You couldn’t ask for anything more. After the ceremony I was able to steal them away for a few sunset photos, one of my favorite things to shoot at a wedding.

Reception

Toasts were made, speeches were spoken and the night quickly turned into a dance party. Adam and Meline were on the dance floor surrounded by friends and family rocking into the night as newly weds. These guys were amazing to work with and I couldn’t ask for a better client. I wish them the best!!!

Kudos

Time for some shoutouts! Many thanks to my second shooter Matt who is always a tremendous help. An amazing catering job done by Bonnie Grant, of Rosalie’s of Sedona, llc.  Kim Roda of Jazz Bouquet Floral & Tea Shop rocked the flowers to make the day that much better.
